Award: two prizes at the IEEE scientific image competition

I submitted a picture related to my research project (get the related paper published in Nature Chemistry) to the IEEE scientific image competition.

Thanks to public votes and the choice of the jury, this picture was distinguished by two prizes. The third prize from the public and the second prize for visual impact, delivered by the jury.

This was a nice opportunity to highlight my research !

Publication: Zeolite-like MOFs in Chem. Soc. Rev.

Besides the development of my research projects and as a follow up on MOF design after our recent contribution based on supermolecular building approaches (See the recent article), I have been contributing to a second review, this time related to the design, synthesis and properties of MOFs with zeolitic topologies (ZMOFs).

It was an exciting challenge to produce about 20 original figures that are intuitive, elegant and homogenized from one another. This work is published in Chemical Society Reviews.

Publication: Methane storage and hydrocarbon separation in tbo-MOFs

During my time in Kaust I have been involved in visualization project in collaboration with the Kaust VisLab.

With the great help of Daniel Acevedo and some of my colleagues my colleagues, I directed the creation of a video that explains one of the powerful design approach to design MOFs.

Besides this exciting video project, I really believe the sorption/separation studies presented in Hasnaa and Youssef’s paper, just accepted in RSC Advances are pretty interesting !

Invited speaker at ICCC-41 conference in Singapore

I am attending the 41st International Coordination Chemistry Conference (ICCC) in Singapore. I am really pleased to be the youngest invited speaker there (Functional MOFs session), sharing the stage with famous MOFs researchers such as M.J. Zaworotko, M. Fujita, and my PhD Advisor C. Serre !

Publication: MOF Design in Chem. Soc. Rev.

Besides the development of my research projects, I have been committed to the coordination of a review preparation focused on MOF design. It was an exciting and challenging task to coordinate from Saudi Arabia with researchers in the US and in Korea. This review is now published in Chemical Society Reviews. (get the review as pdf)

Publication: Topological transplantations in MOFs – Nature Chemistry

My main post-doctoral project are finally published ! After a long time working, designing, and writing up, the paper is now out in the prestigious journal Nature Chemistry. This nice work is also highlighted on the cover of the journal. (get the article as pdf)
